    Playing Xbox through normal speakers

Well, my CD player has just all but bust out on me and as i'm getting an Xbox for Christmas I was thinking of just using that as my main CD player/jukebox for a while. So I was wondering if it was possible to hook it up to my CD players speakers instead of using the TV's ones and what i'd need to get it done?

Any ideas? (I'm learning quite alot about sound and video equipment now from here!)

    Thankkksssssssss amigos

I assume you're talking about speakers attached to a stand-alone cd player unit and they can't be removed from it? In which case I don't think you can unless the unit has a phono-in or phono jack or 5.1 which then feed the sound to the speakers.

I mean a hormal Hi-fi type setup. My CD player is attatched to the 2 speakers via those little red and black wires. My Hi-Fi has a red and white sockets which I think can be used for audio coming in, but I dunno if the Xbox can run through it.

Hopefully you get what i'm trying to say here!

Oh indeed I do this myself... left and right audio outputs are on the Super RGB cable:

        http://www.lik-sang.com/info.php?cat...oducts_id=1878&

You can see the left and right audio connectors here:
        http://www.geocities.com/giga_e/html/my_setup.htm

So it's just a simple matter of using that. The RGB cable also has an optical audio out, so you can use that aswell as an option to output the xbox's audio.

Another possible option is if you're using the X2VGA+ adapter, it has a phono jack audio-out already, so just use a phono-to-left/right audio jack connector or simply a phono to phono lead as shown on it's main page.

If you use a normal AV block, just take the Red and White cable from the TV end, and put it into your Amp.

Would one of these be any good?

(sorry, not sure how to make it a link)

So the standard cable that will come with the Xbox will not help me acheive what I want to do, right?

That would work. IIRC the Xbox lead in the box is a composite with audio outs, so yes it would work but your picture quality would suck.

The best solution is indeed something like this , you get the best possible picture quality (other than component of course), hook up the normal audio plugs to your receiver and should you have or ever get a 5.1 system you can use the optical out for games. I have both optical and normal audio out hooked up at the same time, normal audio for music playback and optical for games .

Online shopping for Import Video Games, Digital Codes, iTunes Cards, Mobage & PSN Cards, Movies, Music, Electronics, Computers, Software, Books, Apparel, Personal Care, Toys & more.

Which i'm pretty damn sure is the same as that lik-sang one, but about ?3 cheaper. They are the same ones aren't they?
