Using Xbox live with US Xbox in UK

I have read many threads, the majority of which are old, and would greatly appreciate it if someone could confirm whether I have the following correct:

1. Xbox live kits are now region locked so I cannot buy a UK kit for my US xbox.

2. US live kits allow you to selcted a UK billing region and hence I will be able to use xbox live.

3. However, because I select the UK region, the downloadble content (e.g. extra levels) will be PAL stuff and hence I will not be able to use this functionality of xbox live.

4. Most importantly of all, I will be able to play Halo 2 against my UK mates. However I will not be able to download the extra levels etc?

1: Might be true but my kit was multi-region
2: Yes
3: No. The content is based upon the game and the console.
4: Yes you can play against your mates, and YES you can download any additional items.

With newer xboxes you don't even need a disk to install the live stuff now.

i have had my US Xbox since dec 2001 and i go on live with that and my UK xb with np!
and like neil said you can play against anyone with your US xbox and some games are region free so certain UK games can be played on your US xb and visa versa.

just got a brand new crystal xbox from the US as mine just packed in on me after 3 years.
