Glad you got it all working great. One tip, i wouldn't install codec packs.
      They usually clash...

Just wondering - has anyone yet managed to get pal dvd footage onto their psp at 25fps without sync problems? I still haven't managed to get it to work. I can do it if I rip the footage and convert it to 30fps while going to the psp but then the picture is jumpy.

        TIA,
        Dogg.

why would you want to have 25fps when the video footage is meant to be 29. something

Wonderboy - I'm following your directions on how to add subtitles to raw AVIs back on page 26, but I've run into a problem; FlashMPEG keeps crashing whenever I try to open the VOB file I've created. I downloaded the latest version (0.7.8.39, the beta) which is the one that keeps crashing, but the other 'stable' version on the site doesn't have any of the options that you're talking about in the instructions. If you can point me in the right direction of another program that'll convert the VOB I've got of Hero (the proper Cantonese version, not the **** dubbed rubbish in the shops right now), then I'd be ever so grateful...

I didn't know you had such good taste mate
Actually, this would be handy for me, as I want to watch House of Flying Daggers on the move.

Currently downloading this, it's all the PSP apps we need under one umbrella. Will post more on it once I've tried it out.

Looks great... could come in handy.

Incidentally, I'm putting the subtitle stuff to the side for the mo and just trying to get down a version of Hero that'll fit. Right now, it's going at 368x208/29.97fps/768kbps Stereo/128kbps... and it's over 450mb and STILL hasn't finished. In fact, the progress bar in 3GP isn't even there, so I can't see how far it's got left. ****.

I've probably missed loads, even though I've tried to read every page of this thread... any tips of which settings to use? My uploads of American Dad (****ing hilarious... must see, especially if you like Family Guy) worked fine, so I must be doing something right (even if one episode was nearly 100mb).

                          Hey martTM.

More than a bit annoying for you, eh. You haven't got a an AMD
cpu ? If so did you get the AMD version of FlaskMPEG. If not ignore...

The VOBs you rip, did you manage to get the subtitles out, with SubRip ok ?
If so, did you try DVD2AVI or VirtualDubMod, for the Vob2avi conversion ?
If one of whose work, then you just convert, then join the avi's into one.
Direct-stream copy. Then use VitualDub(or Mod) and the plugin sutitler to
overlay the subs and encode. Should be fine.

Tell me how you get on with VirtualDubMod or DVD2avi. If one those work.
                          You should be ok..

Download VirtualDubMod for free. VirtualDubMod is based on VirtualDub by Avery Lee. Born as a unification of several modifications, new features have been added including support for the matroska format.

This is really funny. That iPSP app, crashed on me. After the first pass
had finished. The avi, i was converting was xvid trailer with PCM audio.
For comapatabilty. Not a good sign...

iPSP seems to be working fine for me... just going through the 2nd pass for Hero right now. Cheers for the links though, Wonderboy - I'll crack on with them first thing tomorrow and see how it goes. I've got the subtitles sorted through SubRip (even though it picked up most of the lower-case 'L's as 'i's) so it's just a case of getting them into the AVI now...

I've had a bit of a mess around with iPSP and it seems ok. Encoded a few videos with various settings, transfered and converted a bunch of photos, backed up my save games (although it does this automatically when it loads), it looks to be a handy little app...might even fork out for the full version.
