US DS and Jap DS - Compatibility

Just wondering if anyone has had any issues using wireless with the two machines, and if you need to have games bought from the same region?

I've linked a Japanese DS to my friend's US model with no problems. We played one-cart Mario 64 though so can't help you with the region thing.

ive heard that the machines themselve are completly compatable, but games might not be. thats as japanese mario might not link to us. mario.

thats might not... i havnt had a chance to try either
