    DC Internet Help

    Hi,
I have a Dreamcast and a Broadband Adapter and Im looking to get it connected to the internet. I know I need a Browser CD but which is the best?
DreamKey 3.0 is for the UK although that doesn't support the BBA, in the US there is PlanetWeb 3.0 and in Japan there are 3; Broadband Passport, DreamPassport 3.0 and DreamPassport Premier.

It took me a while to find out the differences between them:

the only american browser to use the BBA is Planetweb 3.0. also there are 3 Jap browsers that use the BBA, Broadband Passport (a BBA ver of DP 2), DreamPassport 3.0+, and DreamPassport Premier. and None of the European DreamKey browsers use it.
Planetweb 3.0 has 4.0 Flash, but its still not as good as Dreampassport's&DreamKey's 3.0 flash. it also has Limited pJava support, something that no other DC browser has, and very limited JavaScript compared to DP&DK's slightly better.

also Dreampassport&DreamKey have very limited MPEG 1.0, something that Planetweb doesnt have at all.
    Could anyone help?
    Thanks.

Your information is right, you need the PlanetWeb 3 US browser, or one of the BBA supporting DreamPassport JPN browsers.

DreamPassport is more fully featured than PlanetWeb, the later versions even come with flash viewer, mpg viewer, and irc client.

There is an English translation project for the BBA editions of DreamPassport called XDP Dreams, that even includes most of the vmu based additional game content (like the Samba downloads). I'd try searching for that, if I were you...

Thanks, found the XDP home page (http://www.psilocybindreams.com)

What is the difference between XDP and PSD? And if I burn the downloaded files to a CD as it says, will it work straight away on a PAL console?

If they are in iso format, then probably yes. Otherwise, you might have to go through the nasty bootable disc creation method (which I tried a couple of times and got coasters - I was trying to create a C64 emulator disc - if anyone has succeeded in making a bootable DC homebrew disc, please let me know).

Is the Samba content available on the CD itself or it enables you to get to the site where you can download it from?

                speelung errrrrors

Goldbricker - if you're looking for the Samba saves, I'll happily copy them over for you if you fire your VMU my way... that goes for anybody on the board, too.

Almost got my DC internet set up. Thanks for the help guys!

There are still a few sites around that let you download DC VMU Saves, some can only be accessed on a DC.

booyaka.com is a good site which you should check out.
