    A question about S-Video.

How come my DVD player in the front room only has an S-Video output, from which i have a cable with a scart plug on the other end going into av2 and i get a picture, and yet when i use the same cable on a Panasonic Q going into the scart socket on my Sony TV in the bedroom i get nothing.
Would it be that the bedroom tv is old and so wont accept an s-vid signal thru a scart plug,or full stop.
    Thanks

Most sets will accept only composite and RGB through the first SCART socket, and composite or S-Video through the second SCART socket.

So if you have a set that only has one SCART socket, then it most likely won't be able to accept S-Video through it.

Exactly...only SCART connectors wired in a certain way will accept S-Video signals. Its not just the age of the TV though...on most TVs with 2 SCARTs, one will accept composite and RGB and the other composite and S-Video. Its usually AV2 as you say that accepts S.
