Kazaa Lite - is still working?

Hi guys

I've just reinstalled Kazaa Lite 1.71 from my old backup files and it doesn't seem to connect anymore. It's been ages since I've used it though to be honest and don't really know what's happened to it.

Can you guys fill me in?

I've seen updates on it but am quite afraid to install them in case they are virus infested.

I had exactly the same problem today as well. It seems that XP was trying to block it with its firewall, took ages on my first go and its fine now. Didn't even download anything as I couldn't find what I was looking for.

It works fine but its full of **** (fake files) these days (lots of people have stopped sharing) but its still decent if youre not looking for mainstream music.

Try www.allofmp3.com. Its not free but its cheap and a great service.

Bittorrent (which is easily the best filesharer around IMO), and Limewire Pro for single tracks.

Got KL installed now but it is still not connecting.

I reckon it's a router issue. I've tried it with the Firewall off but do I need to forward any ports to get it working?

I find that Bear Share Lite is best for Music and BT for anything else.

If you go into options > Kazaa Lite Options > Firewall tab you can do all your settings from there.

I had a problem with KL that if you took off all the extra **** such as Supernodes etc, it wouldnt connect ;p

I use Ares to find singles. Its really good. Honest. Does exactly what it says on the time.

But IRC is where its at, especially for albums.
