    PS2 Memory card Broken Data?

Now i had one of the first PS2 memory cards with broken data where all the data on it would break and show as purple cubes of data. I was wondering if anyone here had more of an idea than i do about this broken data? I recently saw broken data for a file on my mates PS2 card and deleted this, i have also just seen some on one of my cards.

What i was wondering is, does this broken data mean the card is going to have broken data all the time or just that one games file was dodgy? I have had no trouble with the card with the broken data file on it since, and it seems to be fine any ideas if it will mess up in future? Have u had any cards with pieces of broken data are they still o.k? Cheers

I'm not sure what you mean by "broken" but I had a card that was corrupted. Each time I tried to save WE7i on it, it shrunk in size by 1200kb! It still works with some games, but now it's only 3500kb in size.

Sorry if i did not make that clear when the purple squares appear when data is corrupt i'm sure it's named as broken data.

Do you use any sort of Homebrew titles that are stored on the memory card, or any applications on the card if you have a chip such as the DMS3? it's normal to see homebrew apps that are stored on the memory card as corrupt data in the PS2 memory manager.

as for what to do with it, you can simply delete it to regain space. It's pretty handy to see it - when I got my first PS2 some time ago, I was able to regain three PSOne memory blocks on one of my cards, from deleting a destruction derby save that was there for a good four years or so xD
