    Gamecube and Arcade Stick email

I received this via email, and wondered if anyone can help -

Me and alot of other PlayStation 2 / Hori / Soul Calibur 2 stick users are having the same problem finding a useable converter for their GameCube.

It seems that there are a few convertors around .....but none of them seem to work with the Hori (Soul Calibur 2 or Tekken 4) stick...or at least that's what the discussion is about on several forums :
The official home for ELDEN RING, Armored Core, TEKKEN, DRAGON BALL, GUNDAM, PAC-MAN, and all your favorite video games!

Could you please help me / us out in advising a converter for the Soul Calibur 2 / PlayStation 2 stick which will work on a GC...?????

There are convertors out there to use DC, SS and PSX pads on an Xbox. Convertors for PSX pads to work on any of the other consoles actually. No one expects anyone to want to use GC pads on a PS2 or an Xbox pad either.

I have GC Hori arcade sticks and would love a convertor to use them on my Xbox for CvsS2EO but alas, no such convertor exists....

Well, a brief butchers over at Lik-Sang found this...

I have absolutely no idea as to whether this is any use though. I should imagine that the four face buttons, two shoulder buttons and digital directions would be translated at least. If they are, I would assume this would be perfect to use the PS2 Hori stick on a GC.

Just a word of warning (I posted this in the other controller thread) - the PS-GC adapter that I tried (which looks similar, but it's not the same as that one) didn't work at all with anything other than a Dual Shock pad. It wouldn't even let me switch the Dual Shock pad into digital mode - the red light stayed on no matter what. With a digital pad/arcade stick connected it did absolutely nothing at all.

            Disco-Tom...
That PSX to GC adapter definitely doesn't work on a PSX Namco or PSX SC2 joystick at all!

i think the problem is a confliction between the joypad adapter and an internal pcb in the arcade stick - upto now i have managed to get no PS2 stick working with an xbox adapter (used 4 different adapters - 3 magicboxs and one joybox and 3 types of arcade stick (one Ascii ft2 stick and 2 cheapo ones).

AFAIK, none of those adapters work with sticks Seems to need the full PCB of a PS2 pad to operate properly. Shoddy.

The DC stick is tricky, because it definitely has a custom PCB. These custom PCB's [incl. the ascii pad] are recognised by the DC on loading, but these convertors seem to accept nothing but the standard pad, which is quite annoying. I've yet to find one that works the way I want it to ft:

I have a couple of pro shok ps2 sticks that I am using with some cheapo ps2 to gc convertors that I got from game with no problems - but I don't have SC II, so it might not work with that game, but it does work fine with beach spikers & virtua striker & CvsSNK 2
