PSP Loading Charge?

My PSP arrives today, and I'm anxious to play asap, however with my digicam/phone etc. I had to do an initial loading charge for about 4hrs - is it the same procedure with the PSP?

Yeah, it's about 3 hrs apparently.

It comes about 50% charged out of the box, so you can play straight away if you want.

Can it run straight off the AC Adapter without the battery connected / plugged in?

You can have it charging AND play it immediately. best of both worlds.
