anyone ever collected from a parcelforce depot

before they have attempted delivery?

My DS is sat in the Birmingham South depot at the moment and wont be delivered today. they will try tomorrow but after the last delivery I had from parcel force, im worried theyll just dump it in my doorstep.

I phone their national helpline and she said I couldnt collect it from them today, even with ID and the full knowledge of what was in the parcel, because its against the law for them to sign the parcel to me without attempting a delivery to the address.

Is that right or was she ****ting me?

Depends. I've had some imports with charge needed to be paid on them I've had to collect (and they've not attempted a delivery because of the charge). So in some ways she's ****ting you. Unless she is refering to a standard parcel without charge on it...

nm, it turns out, as i discovered while phoning them that I have customs to pay on the package, despite it being marked as a gift bastards

That seems like bollocks to me. Twice last year I've had parcels go to the wrong depot in Berkshire and I've rung them up and they've said I can collect it with no questions asked because it would have taken an extra day to get to Slough depot.

It wasn't Parcel Force mind.
