arcade monitor q

morning all,

little bit upset and thought id ask the q here before smahing the thing up

my arcade monitor no longer displays a picture

there is power to it
i can here a constant clicking noise a little like electrical static and everything else appears ok (PC for mame speakers etc)

but no picture

obviously sensible enough not to go poking around in there

anyone any ideas?

Could be anything, really - I'd say your best bet would be to find a local TV repair guy who might be willing to look at it for you.

The ticking sound *could* be a dead line output transistor - which in turn could have been caused by something relatively simple such as bad solder joints (transistors don't like to be turned on and off rapidly!) or something more serious such as a power supply fault or a faulty line output transformer.

"Needle" and "haystack" come to mind.

still no picture

have a tv repairman fried round on sat i'll see if he can do anything unless anyone else comes up with an idea in the meantime....
