Xbox /ps2 converter arcade stick compatable?

Ive been looking to buy a converter to allow me to plug a decent PS2 hori arcade stick into my xbox to play 3s. Altho im just wondering what everyone here is using, as ive read afew of the user comments on play asia, and they all say that fighting games are almost unplayable when using one, as their is a huge lag in response times?

Whats everyone here using and do they work on live? Any recommendations would be smashing! :P

Also if this has been coverd before sorry

    cheers guys

I use a magic-box to play a DC pad for 3S xbox and there is no lag whatsoever.

    Unsure about sticks mind :/

Magic box and PS2 Hori sticks work perfectly. I use a Magic box and RAP.

On a similar theme- I broke my old PS2 pad playing SF3 a couple of weeks ago and since I've bought a new one but it won't work with the magic box. I had a look at the connector on the new pad and there is one less pin than on the old PS2 pad (which worked abosolutely fine with the magic box). Anyone know what's going on or had similar probs?

The new pad works fine on the PS2 itself- just not with the magic box, and it's an official Sony pad and everything.

Use the search people. This question comes up too much. >_<

As for your prob endo I can indeed confirm that newer pads have one less pin.

I'll try an 8pin pad on my magicbox now. Works fine here bud.

Cheers for that. Weird- bugger knows what the problem is then. Maybe I'll have to force myself to learn how to use my Hori stick instead...

                Code:
                The Playstation Controller Pinouts

                        LOOKING AT THE PLUG
                        -------------------------------
                 PIN 1->| o  o  o | o  o  o | o  o  o |
                        \_____________________________/

                PIN # USAGE

                   1. DATA
                   2. COMMAND
                   3. N/C (9 Volts unused)
                   4. GND
                   5. VCC
                   6. ATT
                   7. CLOCK
                   8. N/C
                   9. ACK

                DATA
                    Signal from Controller to PSX.
This signal is an 8 bit serial transmission synchronous to the falling edge of clock (That is both the incoming and outgoing signals change on a high to low transition of clock. All the reading of signals is done on the leading edge to allow settling time.)
                COMMAND
                    Signal from PSX to Controller.
This signal is the counter part of DATA. It is again an 8 bit serial transmission on the falling edge of clock.
                VCC
VCC can vary from 5V down to 3V and the official SONY Controllers will still operate. The controllers outlined here really want 5V.
The main board in the PSX also has a surface mount 750mA fuse that will blow if you try to draw to much current through the plug (750mA is for both left, right and memory cards).
                ATT
ATT is used to get the attention of the controller.
This signal will go low for the duration of a transmission. I have also seen this pin called Select, DTR and Command.
                CLOCK
                    Signal from PSX to Controller.
Used to keep units in sync.
                ACK
Acknowledge signal from Controller to PSX.
This signal should go low for at least one clock period after each 8 bits are sent and ATT is still held low. If the ACK signal does not go low within about 60 us the PSX will then start interogating other devices.

                  Says pin 8 does nowt.

There must be different revisions of the magicbox then. You sure its a magicbox?
Post a pic. (find one on the net or something)
