i have slayers installed on my current hdd

but i need more room for all my roms - complete mame romset is about 7 gigs (i think) and for some reason i only have 4.8 gigs on my E drive

120gig hdd is on order so just checking to see if i can install it with the current chip or if i need to upgrade to an executer 2 pro

No you can't, sorry. I don't think you can change the bios with that chip so your stuck, although you may be able to flash the onboard chip if your feeling wreakless / brave / stupid. best get a new one.

check here for all the detail on your chip

Camps bruv - If you are ever about these parts I will replace your modchip if you get another one. X2 Lites are now ?28 or so.

Mmmnnyeearse - if you want to do that, get a Pro version.
www.baldbouncer.co.uk is a good place for them.

after reading that i think i need the lite rather than pro

                so i would need

                Exe2 lite
                toggle switch (optional aint it)
                123.5 gig hdd (ata133)
                ata133 cable

what specific type/speed of hard drive is required and wheres the best place to get one. Cant afford 120gb right now, was thinking of 30gb depending on price. Want it for full mame, FBAx, snes and carple games. tanx

a 30gb hdd will cost ya 46 quid (vat included)

the 123 gb hdd is gonna cost me 89 quid

                    much more value for money

just a quick question. is the ata133 cable worth it? i've heard mixed reports and never got around to trying it myself.

Unknown tbh, the cable on the xbox is ata 33, so anything above that *should* make a difference i would assume. Best bet would be to rip a track using atta 33, 66, 100, 133 to see if there is any difference.

Thinking about it more, anything above ata 66 would have negligable difference, being that the xbox is unlikely to support anything higher.

maybe the speed of the dvd drive would be a bottle neck, surely that won't utilise a faster cable?

next time i'm at the comp fair i'll get some cables and try a few things out, i'm curios now!
