A couple of FFXI Qs . . .

Firstly, what are the specs needed for this game approximately? I've got an 18 month old Dell Inspiron 8500 laptop, with Pentium 4 M, 256MB of RAM (shocking I know) and a GeForce 4200 Go. Will that run it OK?

Secondly, how much is the monthly subscription fee?

And yeah, I've got broadband .

try downloading the benchmark program you can get on the offical FFXI website - that should give you a good idea of how good it will be.

I'd say from the sound of it that it will run but I'm not sure how playable it will be!

Get a tad more RAM (cause it'll help everything) if you can, though it should be fine.

actually I think the benchmark gives you no idea how it will run.

on the benchmark I get lots of slowdown on my ATI X800 XT, when playing the actual game the performance is so much better.
