Is the spec on the entry-level mini mac decent at all for most tasks? looks lovely, and a nice price to boot.

you'd ideally want more ram but otherwise its well suited to anything except new 3d games, it should even be okay to run emulators.

The Mac Mini is gorgeous, but I've not really got a need for a second box right now. ?99 for a tiny 1Gb music player/USB Memory Stick is a fecking bargain, though. It's just a huge pity that you (a) don't get a screen, and (b) can only use one playlist. Half-filling it with music to randomly listen to, and then loading an audiobook on the rest would be brilliant, but that wouldn't work here.

The Mac Mini is a false economy, the base unit is cheap but it's short on accessories, RAM and disk space as well.
