    PSP wireless set up

I tried setting it up the other day. It was cool that it detected a network in my area and stuff, but after that I have no idea what I'm supposed to do. I don't even know if I need a proxy server or what. So is there someone or somewhere I can go to learn how this works.

Oh right, the infrastructure mode. Chances are this network you found was encrypted, so you wouldn't be able to piggy back on to it anyway. I didn't read your post properly, I thought you were setting up a wireless connection

Well this morning I got one of those Buffalo usb keys. Bearing in mind I'm an idiot and clueless when it comes to most computer topics, does anyone know if there is a real simple step by step guide for using these to set up something like Xlink Kai?

So far I have installed the drivers and program for the wifi usb thing but the settings seem to be more for someone trying to use it to connect their PC to some wireless broadband source, whereas I already have DSL on my computer and want to use the key to connect to the PSP. It doesn't seem to be picking anything up or I just haven't got that set up correctly. I have also installed XLink Kai but got slightly lost in the Quick Start guide because it runs through so many set ups that I'm not sure which one applies to me (and they all seem geared towards the XBox).

Any pointing to an idiot's guide for this would be really appreciated!

              Thanks,
              Dogg.

There's guides in the forums on the Kai website.

Ah yes, thanks very much. I had a good go and haven't been able to get it to work yet (not everything that is in that guide seems to correspond to what I have on my machine). I did manage to knock off my internet connection, which I've only just got back. Seems quite tough for the likes of me unless things just go right automatically first time. Not to worry, thanks for pointing me in the right direction!

Well the one I'm fighting with at the moment is the Buffalo WLI-USB-KB11. A lot of people seem to be using that and it is listed as compatible. I haven't managed to get it to work yet but I'd say that's more down to the fact that I'm clueless. It's pretty cheap too as far as I remember (can't think off hand how much mine cost).
