Special delivery Question

Not sure what forum to put this in so please move if needed..

Basically I was wondering if Royal Mail special delivery comes via the normal postie ( waiting for a DS ) or via the postal van ? Also if it's sent Friday early Morning will it be delivered Sat or will I have wait until Monday.

Yep. Royal Mail.
As for Saturday delivery, it should make it. If not, then Monday. But i'm pretty sure it will make it Saturday.

Is that Royal Mail as in postman or Royal Mail as in Van delivery ?

my postman gets all my parcels and elastic bands them together and gives them to the van

so i get it from either as well

Saturday delivery with SD isn't guaranteed. Anytime I've send something on a Friday via SD, the following Monday is the guaranteed delivery date.

Whether the walking postman brings it or not depends purely on the size of the parcel. For example if it is console size, then it will be in the van, if it's game box size, then more than likely with the walking posty.

Nine times out of ten, stuff posted on friday will get there the next day, but they dont actually guarantee it (as kubrick pointed out)

It all depends on the postmen sorting and delivering; they may think "Ah **** that, it doesn't have to be delivered til Monday." If you have a nice postman, it'll probably show on the Saturday.

I know people knock Royal Mail but I've never had a problem and they delivered the DS this morning at 8am.. Just charging it now !
