Nes Castlevania Help...What type is the cart!

Hi, i would be extremely greatful if someone could help me.
I bought castlevania draculas curse from someone in holland, he said the game was pal, so i bought it, however it will not work on my nes but on the game and cart it also says this....

This Game pak cannot be used with mattel or NES versions of the nintendo entertainment system tm.

On the top of the cart it reads NES-VN-FRA.

On the back of the box the game text is first in English, Then in French.

Anyone have any idea where this game originates from and what system it would actually play on?

There are two lovely PAL regions, Region A and Region B. Region A is UK, Ireland, Italy, Scandinavia and Australia plus New Zealand and Region B is France, Spain, Germany and Holland and they are not compatable with each other. However if you're not club handed you could open the machine and do a small mod to make these cartridges compatable...

Thank you, yes also i see on the front of the box is the B you mentioned, i think i will just sell it on and buy the pal version, i don't want to mess around with my nes and i'm happy enough to locate and find another one.

Have you any idea how much the game is worth? i paid just under 20 for it, however the box is in a bad way 5/10 at best and the instructions are missing there cover, i guess i could just put it on here, i doubt i would get what i paid for it though, oh well live and learn.
