    PSP recharge question

When I finally get my psp, how do I go about charging them up?

I have heard they are ok to plug in the uk without a stepdown is this true?

Do I need to simply buy a plug convertor and then i'm good to go?

    Thanks for you time

P.S How long do they take to charge first time?

All you need is a plug adapter. The PSP charger is 110V - 230V so you will not need a stepdown.

But I heard you need to swap around the psu with a pal psu? and whats this about a simple figure 8 lead?

Just get a travel adaptor, I got one with mine from P-A and it works fine.

The figure of 8 lead is a standard PS2 or xbox lead.

The lead that connects the charger to the plug socket is just a simple figure 8 lead. So instead of buying an adapter for the plug you can easily just buy a new lead.

I think its only the DS that you have to swap the PSU for a 230V PAL GBA one.

Ok right, so you swap the psp psu with a 8 lead, but I cant swap it around with say a pal DC psu?

Does anyone have any links to where I can get these 8 leads or travel adaptors which would be suitable for the psp?

Also how long does it take to recharge first time? And how do I know when its been recharged? Does it use led lights like the SP uses to let you know when its charged?

Or does the screen turn on and show you the batt bar going up like a mob phone? How many hours do you get out of it when you say, just play games?

            Thanks again

The PSU is the small box that connects between the plug and the PSP. It outputs whatever power the PSP needs, a DC one would not output the correct power. You connect it to the mains at one end and the psp at the other. The lead between the mains and the PSU can be switched with a standard figure 8 lead. You can get these in most electrial shops.
