Is it possible to modify a slimline PS2?

Just wondering if there's a modchip of some sort available for the PSTwo? Or is it a case of having to mess about with a disk swap in order to play imports?

The new generations of chip work (for example, the DMS4), but from what I can make out from some sites, you need to install an extra 'Diode Fix' or else the PStwo's laser will cock up for some reason.

You can also obtain swap magics and use them, there's a couple of ways to go about fixing the PStwo so that you can swap the discs (either glue some bit of card to something within the PStwo, install some plastic fixings that are sold in some places, or you can even install a new lid which has an opening like the flip top lids).

I've just got a modded slimline PS2(modded with Matrix Infinity+a diode fix), I would have got swap magic but I hate swapping discs. Expect to pay ?170-180 for one
