US Xbox DVD question

I have just got me a US Xbox(cheers Adam) and was wondering about what region playback i will get if i buy a DVD remote?

Apparently your Xbox will region-lock itself depending on the dongle you insert. So buying a dongle over here will make your Xbox lock to region 2 for example.

that would be interesting to watch PAL RC2 DVD via NTSC signal out of US XBox? Or does US Xbox do the conversion from PAL to NTSC? or just NTSC-50?

seriously you don't want to use Xbox as DVD player coz even cheapo Chinese DVD player will win hands down...

DVD remote can cost 15-20 pounds, add a price of a game you can buy a decent cheap DVD Player. I bought a 49 quids Toshiba DVD player from amazon and it was quite good actually as I replace my old 400 quids dvd player. But I intend to replace the DVD Player when I finally buy a 50 inch HDTV plasma TV but not for a while
