Recommend an online store for Swap Magic?

Need to pick up a copy of Swap Magic so I can play MGS3, there's a lot of sites whom I haven't dealt with, so can anyone recommend somewhere they've already used?

    Much appreciated.

http://www.psxservices.co.uk/catalog...roducts_id=155 is who I usually deal with for such items, never failed me, and one of the few UK stores to still have the guts to sell such items. Swap Magic 3.3 is the newest and most compatible version.
Is MGS3 dual layer? I have no idea myself, but if if is, Swap Magic will be no good.

If you don't mind waiting a little while, the DMS4 EZI solderless modchip range is due out any time now, which will no doubt be a superior solution to any boot disc.

I guess GT4 is the same so won't work with any version of Swap Magic either ??

      I got my discs from here almost 2 years ago now, prompt and helpful;

The game you are trying to boot up cannot be bigger than the TOC size (size of the disc basically) what disc is currently inserted. The TOC size of the Swap Magic 4.35 Gig. This causes a problem for some games which are the full 4.37Gig of the disc (such as most Capcom games which are padded). We get around that by inserting a game with a bigger TOC size (Devil May Cry is a good one) in order to 'refresh' the TOC.
Obviously with a 9Gig dual layer disc, your pretty screwed.

Considering the 3.3 version only came out in the new year, you'd think they'd of been smart enough to make it dual layer, or at least the full 4.37Gig...

Got mine here: dead cheap, came quick - http://www.techwizad.com/

Sounds like it won't solve your problem, though...

http://www.dms3.com/cgi-bin/dms4ezi/site.pl?page=home is the official page. Nice pics, but little news. Keep an eye on the forums for updates on the release dates... seems set for next week for the lite version, and 2 weeks for the Pro.

Hmm that sounds interesting. Might wait out for that instead of getting a swap magic. Any idea if it will be installable in a slimline?

They say it's compatible with any version of PS2, don't they? Not sure though, but most probably.

Initially, it's going to be compatible with PS2's v5-11, with an extra adaptor avaliable for the v4 machines. A PSTwo version will be avaliable soon after.

No support planned yet for v0-3, though they may release some adaptors later.

Wank I've got a V3 machine. A whirring, clunking, slow beast it is too, man, I'm really going to have to upgrade to a slimline at some point. Does anyone know how easy those no-solder mods (like the EZI) are to fit then?

Suppose no-one knows until it's released. but it looks pretty simple... just a load of clips...

If your going to buy a new machine anyway, you may as well get a premod. I'd recommend against a slimline too, high failure rate with most modchips.
