Panasonic Q

Was hoping to hear from people who had one of these as I was thinking about buying one. Would like to know about build quality and generally whether they are worth the money ( Around ?300.00 inc shipping ).

If you like shiny, expensive Gamecubes, they're ace.

If you just want to play Gamecube games, they're ****. Too many problems with them (about 30% of Panasonic Q owners have had the "No sound" problem), DVD output is only S-video tops.

It just depends on what you want from a console. If you *have* to have LE stuff, go for it. You can't get much nicer versions of the GC hardware.

I can recommend the Q, I've had no problem with the modded one I ordered from LanKwei some 3 years ago. Unfortunately it seems they've come to a standstill and is not an active webshop anymore. Play-Asia only stocks the unmodified one, so your best bet would be LikSang.

Refuses to read any GC games or DVD's now. The fan sounds like that of a small aircraft too (this also happened to a couple of mates of mine).

I'd be wary, as if it does go up the spout you're pretty much screwed for getting the thing repaired, let alone looked at :/

I had the sound problem, got it fixed by a great forum member here.

The fan is a pain in the ass though, noisey as hell. Anyone know a place that might sell a replacement fan of better quality?
