MGS2, SOL or substance

Hi guys, just wanna check something.

I've been playing through a version of MGS2 (I think US) on PS2. The thing is I started as Raiden so I presumed it was Substance, however it does say sons of liberty on the startup. Am I right in presuming that this is the former not latter game?

Wrong selection in the start-up menu. It always happens to me, that stupid menu is confusing. Can't remember which one is, but the right one starts with solid in a bridge under a heavy rain (like the demo).

Well, you can start with Raiden in SOL, so I would say yes. In the intro, Raiden sneaks into the petroleum platform, while listening how Solid Snake was MIA in the tanker.
