psp import charge

I got my Import VAT invoice from DHL 2 days ago.

The cost of PSP from Lik Sang (inc shipping) was ?243, and DHL have billed me for ?43.87. There was no Duty rate payable, just 17.5% VAT and Admin fee of ?1.25.

I'll take a look debug77. Thanks for the duty info Rawlo. Helps me try to get an average. I've had DHL before and they found my address. Did your machine arrive ok, no problems ?

MY PSP was dispatched from LIK SANG on Friday afternoon and I received it Monday Lunch time. PSP arrived in perfect condition. If you do get stung for customs, I think DHL charge the lowest admin fees compared to all other couriers.

You've been real helpful Rawlo, thanks. I've noticed that it seems best to just get the machine. Then order some games seperate to lower the duty. Maybe even getting the games of play-asia ? Do you me asking did you get any games with yours ? If so, what do you recommend...

I've read all the posts in the first play section, about the psp games. Seems Ridge_Racer, minna no golf and Lumies. Have the least amount of Japanese.

My order from lik sang was for the standard PSP pack with Ridge Racers. I then ordered a 512mb memory card from emartbuy.com

I will be getting Lumines soon.

Sounds like some of you are lucky. I ordered PSP Value pack + Ridge Racers via TNT, the price was $524 inc shipping. My charge from TNT was ?74. FFs!

I have paid it BUT I am attempting to claim back around ?12 from HM Customs on the bull**** charges TNT stitched me up with.

Anyone ever considered ebay? You do have to watch out for dodgy deals but I got mine off there for ?200 and it was already in the UK so no extra shipping/VAT charges. So long as you check the sellers rating you should be fine!

Mine turned up today,posted on Friday from Tokyo,no charges what so ever.
Had it marked as a gift,worth 30,000 yen,so an element of risk involved.

If you use DHL as a courier they only charge 2% of declared value as admin cost, which I believe is the thriftiest courier-wise...
