Any idea when Sony will open PSP preorders?

On their Playstation shop. Anyone? I've decided to go for a UK DS and PSP now, as I've worked out I can get both for the price of a Jap PS2 :P. If not, where's the best place to preorder?

I'm a bit unsure about preordering from GAME, Gameplay, Amazon et al, as I have a feeling that in a month's time you'll have to preorder again with them as soon as Sony open official preorders.

I've got a PSP preordered with Amazon just as a backup really and to be in there in the queue. I'm more than likely going to go for a US PSP though if the price is a lot different.

Are Sony going to run a centralised preordering scheme like they did with the PS2?

mt its ?179.99 but they say this is a preliminary price. I have full confidence that the price will be lowered considering the DS is ?99. I see around ?150.

Well at the moment if your lucky you can get a value pack + ridge racers for ?200/?210 so if its ?180 and games are ?30 then its the same as the Jap value pack price = no point in waiting 2 extra months.

point= i can't read japanese , oh and import tax may be a problem, also if it breaks.

but yeah the price would be the same and i have come close to buying a japanese version, but the language barrier has put me off, and not knowing if they are region free.

I don't know the slightest bit of japanese and have no problems with RR menues. The main menu is purely in english, the menu between races is Japanese but has pictures beside them to show what they do.

Only about 49 days to go...

I'd hold off. I got an import DC in '98 the import was pretty big and when the UK launch came around I felt left out! And I'm trying to fight the urge to get one from Lik-Sang. And if they do turn out to be region free you'll still be able to get the cheaper games from videogames+. Join me in abstaining from the import malarky.
