Import shops in Birmingham?

Hi,

Does anyone know if theres any games shops left in Birmingham that sell imports?

CeX pretty much totally sucks now, and Gamestation (New Street one anyway) only really have the odd one or two behind the counter, and they're mostly just OSTs.

What the hell is going on with the world? There must be at least one, somewhere? Be it in the city or the suburbs, I don't care. Does anyone know of any?

I'm not entirely sure about Birmingham, but if you want to get at Import software, the internet is really the greatest thing ever. If you end up buying import games from a UK store, you invariably pay over the odds. For instance, Forbidden Planet/Another World in Leicester used to carry a limited import range, and the prices would regularly be between ?45-60.

Grab things off the internet if you possibly can... it'll cost you less in the long run and be far more reliable since software companies take an extremely dim view of importing, and try to stop it from happening.

I usually do buy my imports off the internet but I just fancied venturing out into the real world today

think you'll need a trip to London, it's only about 90 mins isn't it ? plan where your going in advance and you could have a top day but take plenty of money.

Another World in Wolverhampton used to sell imports but the prices are higher than on the net

And the shop is crap as well. CEX do import but there are mainly old games not latest hot Japanese stuff (Mainly non nintendo stuff)

I would thought it will be nice if Gamestation could have an import corner in their big shop.

Game Focus in Goodge Street (Northern Line)-prices are as everyone says above that of the internet. However its a well run and tidy store, and the chaps behind the till know their stuff, and always show you the disk before they let you pay.

I just called them they don't have the game I want, sold out. Do you know any other place? The game I want is Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne.

I had a chat with one of the staff in there not long after it opened, about import games. Their stance was that if they stock it, then Sony/Nintendo/etc... stop supplying them UK releases However, they're quite happy to accept imports in as trades. Like I say, they have SOME stuff, but its behind the counter and mostly soundtracks.
