Gunpey EX help

I've been playing Gunpey EX on my Wonderswan lately, and i've unlocked a few backgrounds during play. I'm curious to how I can use these backgrounds? There doesn't seem to be an option for it anywhere ?

Any help appricated! If anyone knows the main differences between Gunpey and Gunpey EX, besides colour, that'd be appricated too According to the gamefaqs FAQ, Gunpey has a story mode!?

I figured it out

Pause the game, and select between backgrounds using A and B buttons.

This game is soo good! Anyone know how many puzzle levels there are?
