You cant get them "cheap" in the UK - it's costs quite a bit to import the D Terminal Cables required for the mod + someone needs to make his cash for modding them in the first place (it's not a quick job), the traders in HK can charge less as they are not paying high prices for the parts required.

I'm not doing them anymore because I'm tired of being pissed about by people who want cables, but dont want to pay for them as they refuse to understand what's involved. I've been left with cables which I've ordered and modded for people in advance out of my own pocket and nobody to sell them to for ages, and every time I'm unlucky enough to get caught by customs I have to kiss any money I made from the sales (and a bit on top) goodbye.

I bet they'll be fine for the next Nintendo machine too!

I aint never providing a mod service again - it's too much work for f all reward.

It's a pretty terrible state of affairs when somebody who provides an obviously excellent service stops because people arse him around. Nor do I understand the mentality of a person who'd order something and then renege on the deal.

I'm not sure how you did buisness, but from what it sounds like, you made things to order, and are not a company. Although it doesn't excuse people's behaviour (as far as I'm concerned, a contract (verbal or otherwise) is a contract), it could explain why they acted that way.

Christ, if I'd asked you to make something for me, and then the next day what I needed it for blew up/got stolen/got dropped in the bath, I'd still pay you the money because you'd gone out of your way for me.

Still, if you feel that people take the piss, it's fair enough you don't want to do it any more. There are people who are obviously grateful for services rendered in the past, and hopefully the positive transactions haven't been outnumbered by mind-changing bastards.

Saur- Couldn't you do it the other way round? Basically people pay upfront in full 1st, then you source the goods and make them. You don't make any exceptions, people take it or leave it. Obviously people would have to be told it's going to take 2 weeks or whatever as you have to get the cable, but I'm sure people wouldn't mind because of the quality of the product.

I am interested in your comments about the cable likely to be suitable for the next Nintendo H/W. I bought a Panasonic Q cable from you ages ago (still going strong with a top picture, cheers) is my modded Q cable liable to work with it too? Just thinking about the extra red and yellow stereo cables you fitted to the scart, isn't it unlikely that the next machine won't have this input?
