I reckon they will be perfectly fine - look at it this way, since the SNES the Nintendo AV port has been the same configuration on all their machines. There is no way Nintendo will manufacture a whole new set of cables for each new machine - I bet if/when the next machine comes out it will have the same AV and digital port as the Gamecube and modded cables will function the same way.

It's not the paying upfront thing that's the main problem - in order to make money off doing mods and stuff I have to order A LOT of everything I need and hope I never get stung for tax. I have to spend a lot to make very little and everytime I get taxed I make a big loss, and if I increase prices I wont get business as the main income came from working for import stores (and they put money on for themselves on top of my fee so I have to keep mine low) not the forums (business is very slow via forums). Time is a problem aswell, I dont want to give up every evening of my week for absolutely nothing and then go to work the next day exhausted.

You need to plug in both the AV cable and D/Component cable - or you get no vertical sync. Dont plug in/remove cables when the machine is on.

            Just called them.
Got to pop the broken one in the post and theyl be sending a new one out today. Seems nice enough. Hope it bothers to work this time though.

My cable didn't work either or so I thought.
My TV has 4 scart slots en only 1 of them is true RGB the rest is (seemingly) something else.

So, after having send an angry mail to ConsolePlus... I tried a different scart slot (out of desperation) eh-voila: it worked!

              Though, ConsolePlus never replied

Where do you order the material from? What courier do you use?

A modified RGB cable can't negatively affect a gamecube, right? I mean, if the cable isn't disconnected from either the tv or gamecube while the console is on, everything should be fine, right? Or can it damage the cube, just by being used in the first place?

This may be a stupid question, but I'm just trying to find out for sure so that I don't end up damaging my cube in the process.

You are worrying over absolutely nothing, there isnt any risk to your machine.

The fault you are talking about is caused by a short on the audio line, this is due to bad workmanship and it's easily repaired anyway.

The reason I warn not to plug/unplug cables while the machine is on is a precaution only.

                          Ah, ok. Thanks man.

An RGB cable will work on my tv if it has an rgb scart, and if the tv (through composite) displays a black and white picture when cube is on, correct?

Correct. You should be using RGB at least on all your stuff, composite and SVideo is a complete waste of a good console. It's like spending hundreds of pounds on a sound system only to listen to it via a plastic cup with a string attached.

Is RGB on tv, same as component on HDTV? Quality-wise.
