Can the Disc System be used with the AV Famicom? Does it matter if the Disc System is from Japan or Hong Kong? From what I've understand HK Famicoms are PAL but I don't know if the external device has anything to do with video formats. I've also understood the Disc Systems drive has a tendency to break after some period of time. What should I take into account when getting one?

I think that you should take in account that getting the actual FDS disk can be quite a hard, or so I've been told by many websites. Though the machine & capabilities are awesome and way more impressive (especially in the sound department) if I were you I wouldn't go too far in trying to aquire it. Though it is ofcourse a very cool toy & an extremely nice novelty. -

From what I've heard, the Disk System works fine with the AV Fami. The original model looks a bit better with it though.
