PSP ?330, Is it worth it?

Hi. I've just been offered a brand new psp value pack with ridge racers for ?330. I was just wondering if this was a good deal

you might wanna hang on a little while if you are thinking about PSP's it appears they may be region locked, so you may be stuck with japanese games forever

there was a big thread about the US manual saying that the US PSP will only play games marked region 1 or ALL.
the current JPN games have a region 2 logo on them

So, overpriced by at least ?40. Ebay has plenty below this price,some in UK with pixel check etc

Dont the UMD discs have region coding just like DVD's do??? If so Japan is region 2 and so is the UK so no problems for imported PSP owners.

Didn't Sony answer back to that and tell everyone that PSP will be region free though? Sure I read that somewhere.

Even at ?200 it's questionable as to whether it's worth it, imo. Especially if they pull a hardware revision out their arses sooner than expected.

Yeah they did but recently someone was quoted saying that it would be region free 'for now'!!!!

They were probably on about movies. It doesn't make sense to region lock a console later down the line.

Edge talked about the issues of region lock. Comparing it the Xbox which is region free, but software companies chose to lock their games.

That made me think how many Xbox games were region free.

Aren't forthcoming PSP's going to be maufactured in China as opposed to Japan and have cheaper Samsung screens as opposed to Sharp ones?

A fair price IMO would be ?250 for a value pack with one game. However prices are falling and you can get one for a fair bit less than that now.
