Pc Trouble (possibly gfx card related)

I just bought a new radeon 9600 pro, and everything works fine with it appart from one really strange problem. When I start up the computer, the computer does not seem to use the gfx card, as it puts the monitor back into 1024x768 and the catalyst control centre doesnt seem to load. Stranger still my internet connection and dvd drive are disabled- i really dont get why this is.

The problem is fixed, simply by shutting down the pc and turning it back on, this works every single time- and does not work if you simply reset the pc.

Any ideas?

Power supply related perhaps? Only just got enough juice to power the whole lot maybe..

would the power not just turn off completely if it didnt have enough power, it does seem to take a while to get up to full power I suppose so it is likely.

Give reinstalling windows a try.

yeah i would but i dont really have the time at the moment to do a complete hd wipe, would take far too long to back everything important up.
