    MP3 audio volumes

When you download an MP3 from a file sharing site, they obviously vary in volume (loudness) that is set by the person who made the MP3 file. When I put those MP3's to disc to make an Audio CD in say Nero, would those volumes stay the same or do they become equal? In simple terms, when listening to the tracks would I have to change the volume for certain tracks or are they all the same?

Weird question I know, but just wondered.

Nero does allow you to "normalize" the volume automatically. I don't know exactly how accurate this is, as I always do it by hand, but it's probably worth a shot.

But yes, by default they'd all be different levels.

Are there certain levels that most people record MP3's at? Eg, the bitrate is normally 'x' amount and volume is 'x' amount etc?

I think it depends on the source material tbh. I've got CDs that vary in volume too, which translates to the MP3. Nero does a good job of normalising the stuff if I burn it back to CD. I haven't changed any digitally encoded tracks though as any decent player should have the functionality built in, like foobar2000.
