    PSP Importing

Hi, I have a PSP arriving tomorrow morning. This is the first time I have bought an import machine. I know you guys have experience in the importing scene and was wondering if there any things I need to know before it arrives tomorrow ie.charging the battery etc...Anything you think is relevant

    Thanks

The charger that comes with the PSP will be work fine except the wrong typ of plug comes with it. You can just use any figure 8 mains lead(like the one on the PS2) to plug it into the charger.

Other than that you should have no problems. When I turned mine one every thing was in english.

Thanks for the info. Can I use a standard 2 point to three point shaver plug rather than a figure 8 mains lead?

A standard travel convertor works fine as that is what I am using.

That's great, saves a lot of hassle. Is changing the language to English easy? I just hope it arrives with no dead pixels etc...

First time you turn it on it asks you to set the language etc, so no worries there.

Mine came half-charged out of the box.

You don't mind me asking Ciaran (or anyone else). Did you get your PSP of Lik-sang or Play-Asia ? Also, which courier delivered and how much customs did you pay ? I've got to decide tomorrow evening if to get one now. Or wait for the offical launch.

I usually, just get on and decide, but i've read so much stuff on websites forums. That it's starting to get to me. Worried i'll get a bad screen etc.. Plus, with play-asia bringing down there price today. I'm wondering who too get it of.

Funny really, with no net, years ago. This never used to bother me. In the past i've bought an import megadrive, mega-cd (young and stupid, eh), snes etc...

              Thanks in adavance guys..

                Another option is www.audiocubes.com
Psp value pack for ?185. Although, personally, having used PA for pretty much everything else, I may stick with them for my Psp order too.

Bollacks! Play-Asia does seem quite a bit more expensive...

Is it worthwhile getting the Value pack? As far as i can see you get a 32MB memory stick (which isnt large enough, so you buy another one), headphones&remote (which people have muttered about, and buy something better quality) and a case (again not regarded)? Or have i misinterpreted the PSP threads.

So i dont forget a recap of current (3/1/05) prices; 512MB Memory stick duo pro cards for ?40 or 1GB duo pros for ?82, but are non-official ones.

                  PSP basic;
Audiocubes = ?143 plus shipping and tax.
                  Lik-Sang = ?175 plus shipping and tax.
Play-Asia (not available, but pack with Ridge Racer) = ?201 plus shipping and tax.

                  Anyone else?

You need the official headphones to be able to control mp3's etc without taking the unit out all of the time so they are necessary if you want to use it as portable audio. I think the case is fine myself. Mem card could be useful, perhaps have it seperate just for game saves?
I think you can pay AC via Paypal tho cant you?
