please excuse YET ANOTHER live thread, this one is not for me, mine plugged straight into the router and was away. this is for a mate who lives back in my home town.
anyway, he has a broadband connection (BT) but is lacking a pc so can't get it all working, i've asked my dad into taking his beloved pc over to his house to try and sort it out, and he very nicely agreed. before we start though, has anyone else got a setup like this? and what sort of details would my dad need to get things running? i've visited the xbox site and it simply says
does he really need to ring the isp or is it possible to 'wing it'?
offer of several pints of beer to the guy with the answers. cheers!

In most cases, you will need to use a PC to initially configure your high-speed Internet connection before directly connecting your Xbox. Contact your Internet provider for details.
