Live and Blueyonder ICS Tutorial Anywhere?

Gah, my NIC settings got resetted so now Live isn't working through ICS.

Anyone got a link to a guide to set up ICS with Blueyonder? I found somewhere before but I can't find it again.

Using wireless connection to my router on my laptop, then the XBox cabled to the laptop using ICS.

Can't work out what's wrong with my current settings, afaik it's the same as the settings I was using before. Getting DNS error in Live if that helps.

Help appreciated, as I'm meant to be playing some pro evo matches!

    No help?

I have no idea what's wrong tbh. Set static IP to my NIC, and the settings in Live seem to be right. But it always fails at the DNS check.

Have you put the blueyonder dns numbers into your LAN & Xbox?

I find automatic detection rarely if ever works

Yeah I put static IP and DNS on the NIC.

        IP: 192.168.1.1
        Subnet: 255.255.255.0
        Gateway: 192.168.1.1

        DNS server: 192.168.1.1

I use the same info when entering on the XBox, except IP as 192.168.1.2 so they don't clash. Still gives me a DNS

Also, I've found that when the XBox is turned on and the NIC becomes active, my internet through my wireless adapter stops working. It's very annoying.

Isn't NIC disabled now if you log into selfcare, since its Automatic?

The DNS server isn't 192.168.1.1 on the Xbox though, you should use the blue yonder IP addresses or set it to automatic and let ICS sort it out.

Gah, well I can't login to the BY selfcare being that I didn't ever get a username and password, and whenever I ring them up they give me one that doesn't work.

I'm sure when I used a tutorial I found on the internet a few weeks back that I manually set the DNS on both the XBox and NIC.

I've tried leaving the DNS server addresses empty on the NIC and setting the DNS settings on the XBox to automatic, but that still doesn't connect with the DNS server connection error.

Don't frig with the ICS settings man, just let the wizard sort it out. You don't need to do anything with Blueyonder, afaik, 'cos your problem is the Xbox can't connect. Blueyonder doesn't see what is your side of the ICS, just your PC.

By letting "ICS sort it out", the wizard has done everything you need then you just go into your Xbox settings and stick the Blueyonder DNS server IPs in with the rest of the static IPs. As long as the Xbox can connect to the Internet (and I don't see why not, stop messing!) then it just works.

This going from memory like, I've set a couple of folk up like this. I never had to manually change any settings once through the ICS bit on the PC. There are tutorials on Xbox.com too, or use Google.

edit: Google returns this as it's first result: http://www.ugvxfaq.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/faqbody.htm

                  God, don't I feel sheepish.

Completely forgot there was an actual network setup wizard. But in my defence I did use a tutorial I found on google before which had me enter everything manually, which DID work.

Thanks commander. I knew there was gonna be an easy solution as well, just to piss me off.

EDIT - Will not having a static IP mess with my streaming in XBMC and FTPing? (It's a modded 'box)
