PSP issues - games not working

when i boot up the PSP i get problems with it not reading the disc

it happens maybe 4/5 times i try to play it

but then it works fine

am i not inserting it properly or shutting the door correctly????

its kinda starting to annoy me - the system boots up fine everytime and thats not a problem - i cant even clean the discs as i cant get to the umd

please help before it gets thrown at a wall

Mine last night had the image of Ridge Racers options screen on the screen when i had Lumines in there,and i got that same message,cant read disc or something.
Guess it just got confused.

yeah that happened to me

played ridge racers and took it out and switched it off

the next day loaded up that demo disc and ridge was still there and i will able to play it with no ridge game inserted

How are you turning off you PSP when playing a game? Do you just switch it off whilst the game is loaded, or go back to the dash and then turn off?

just turn it off with the power switch

Well that's why. If you turn it off with a game in the PSP goes into a sleep mode and saves your progress in the game. Take the game out and replace it and the PSP is still looking for the previous game.

It happened to me once, so since then I've always jumped back to the dash before powering down. Never experienced it since.

I find that if I put it into sleep mode (pressing the power switch) seems to screw games up when they resume. Games wont save, or disks dont read.

I've started to power the PSP down now instead (by holding down the power switch for a few seconds until it goes off) and everything seems fine that way.

By putting into sleep mode sometimes causes the Lumines not saving problem that I learned the hard way

Hmm - I've been powering down with ridge still running - not had any problems, but then, I only have RRacers 8)

I'll bear this in mind when I grab Lumines though - cheers for the info guys !

Whenever I go to sleep instead of power down RRacers doesn't play any music
