    Tronix Query

    Just a couple questions:

    1) How reliable are they?
    2) Is the Fedex $13 shipping option the only shipping option I get?
    3) Will I get customs tax when ordering from them?
    4) How long does it take for the order to be delivered?

    Big thanks for any replies.

    1. The best around
    2. No. Global Priority letter for $10 (holds up to 4 Cube, PS2 games) or from $12 for Priority box.
    3. They can help if you ask.
    4. Less than 5 days via airmail via Global Priority.

I think I read something about items not being taxed if sent by global priority letter, as opposed to couriers. Is that correct?

Basically, I'm just trying to figure out what the safest option is to make sure I get my game and it doesn't get hit by any import tax!

As long as you aren't silly and order say more than 3 games in one pack you'll be fine with Global Priority. I must have made over 50 orders with them, never once (touch wood) had any extra fees. Plus Global Priority arrives in 5 days or less, so courier really has no advantage IMO.

Well, I just need to order one game.

So...... is there a big chance that I WILL be taxed, if I use fedex 2 day shipping, but only order a single game?

Everytime I've used FedEx from them I've got taxed. They might be willing to mark down the package though.

Would it be best to write them an e-mail first then, enquiring whether they would be able to mark down the package or not. I don't want to have to fill in the order, write to mark down the package, and only after submitting my order for them to write: "oops, sorry, we can't mark the package down, but we've sent the order so, say hi to the customs guys for us!".

I use Fedex 2 day ($13) from Tronix EVERY time I order.

Tronix will always mark the package down if you ask them to do this, ask in the special instructions area of the order form.

As far as getting taxed goes - if at all you find out some two weeks later when a letter arrives.

It seems to be about quantity with Tronix, I notice when I order 1 game they mark the package at $0, with the description as promotional CD.

If I order 2 games they still mark the package as a promotional CD, except the value is aroung $29. Even then you don't always pay tax, but on the times I have it's been around ?10-12. The exchange rate being the way it is, you often get the games for around ?30 so another ?5 to the price is still quite reasonable I think.

Tronix are my first port of call most of the time. I think I asked them on my very first order to mark it down and they did. Ever since then, they always marked down whatever I ordered without even me even asking. Never paid import duty on anything I've got via them

                    You could do alot worse!

What shipping option do you prefer? Fedex or global priority?

I have used Tronix since 1996 and never had a single problem. I use Global Priority unless I am really desperate!

Normally games take 4 to 6 days with Global and I have had them in 3 days.

I have met the Tronix owner (Joe) in New York and he is a great guy.

Global priority every time. As mentioned, you can pack quite a bit in there too.
