Lets hope the quality of the screen improves more like. The main reason why i sold mine was down to the fact i wasn`t that impressed with the screen, mainly down to the extremly poor black responce rate which can get really bad in the higher classes of Ridge. I`ll wait to see if the samsung one`s are any better before i re buy another PSP.

I'd quite like to know where this information came from to start with. Some sites are claiming that the first 200,000 were Sharp, and the rest is Samsung, made in China. Perhaps some people with PSPs they have bought recently could check to see where they were made? (it says inside under the battery).

As far as i know they are all sharp at the moment. There hasn`t been any confirmation that samsung screens are already in psp`s, only that sony have signed a deal with samsung to start making screens for it. I first heard the news in the psp hardware thread http://ntsc-uk.domino.org/showthread...&page=22&pp=10 (comments go on for a couple of pages afterwards)

bull****. I doubt many people here could tell a samsung from a sharp screen.

Perhaps there will be a PSP1100 or something that has the revised screens. Until someone like IGN or Lik-Sang show comparision photos etc, I don't think I'll believe it.

Well as Hodge mentioned a screen with a faster response would be nice

Well before I bought my Sharp LCD TV I spent a long while comparing the differences between the various LCD screens. The difference between the sharp and virtually any other brand is quite enormous in favor of Sharp. The viewing angle of Sharp (TV) LCD Screens is so much greater and the colours are more natural. While Phillips & Samsung looked a bit ?blacker? in the parts where they were supposed to be black opposed to the Sharp the general picture quality of the Sharp Screens is much higher.

Don't know if there will be any differences between the Samusung and Sharp screens. Could be that both will be produced according to certain specifications and that there is virtually no difference between other than that it was produced in a different factory.

My beef with Sharp is that all 4 of my Sharp LCD tvs developed bad / dead pixels which I find tremendously annoying! And as with the very vast majority of the LCD screens ? there is some ghosting.

I think Neil was talking about on a PSP, I am sure you could tell the difference on a TV.
