    2) can i use the broadband connection on the xbox and the pc at the same time
    3) is it hard setting the xbox up for live through the pc?
    4) is their any leads i should be aware i need for connecting the xbox to the pc?
5)how good is the lag on the xbox servers
6)which games are currently supported by live and are their any hidden costs aside from the ?50 starter pack?
    7) ntl have a special xbox live 600k connection (29.99) and a normal 600kb connection (24.99) wud the normal 24.99 version be good enuff for live or do i need the 29.99 one?

Okay, I can't answer them all, but from experience - here's what I know.....

    1) 150kb works fine on MotoGP, but Ghost Recon seemed a bit laggy (still get this occasionally on 600kb).
    7) I'm running the 600kb connection at ?24.99 and have no problems at all. Tbh, I think they only charge you the extra fiver to give you a differend address.

150kb as in just a little faster than ISDN?

you need about 512/128 to get a decent connection.

        1) I'm on Telewest, but you'll really need the 600K (or better if it's available) for a decent performance in most games.
        2) Sure, I'm using a router to share the connection.
        3) For me I just bought the router and a second cable and installed the software. Pretty straight forward.
        4) You'll need a network cable to connect the XBox to the modem.
        5) There are no dedicated servers provided, apart from Phantasy Star Online which charges a separate fee. Gamers host their own games, so the amount of lag depends on their connection and the number of people connected to them.
        6) I can't remember them all off hand, but MotoGP (and GP2 which is out next week), PSO, Ghost Recon, Unreal Championship, Mech Assault, Star Wars Clone Wars, a Capcom fighter and a few Sega Sports titles come to mind. There are probably a few I've missed.
As for hidden costs, well Phantasy Star Online has a monthly fee on top of the XBox Live fee. I don't see any apart from that.

get router if you can, works well.

or you could just get second Network card from your PC to xbox
