Exchange Rate - Credit Card help

Having bought a Sony PSP + 2 games for $443, I opted to pay this amount without paypal's foreign exchange rate for currency conversions. Does anybody know how much VISA will charge for exchanging between currencies and/or the bank itself.

    Regards

They don't usually charge they just up the exchange rate in their favour so you'll pay slightly more and makes them a bit more money. If you see what I mean...

          Hello,

Your credit card would charge you the business exchange rate at the point the transaction takes place. Your card will almost certainly have a forgeign commission charge for trasactions taking place outside of UK mainland. Theres only 1 or 2 UK cards that do not charge for transactions taking place outside the EU. You will find nearlly all cards have a 2.75% fee in place for this.

Sad/simple fact : These fees until recently have been known as `hidden fees` because credit card companies opted not to print these fees on customers statements. The fees take place when the currency is converted into ? sterling and is not shown as an additional charge in most cases.

          Hope this helps,

          Hyst ^_^
