A good alternative to modchipping PS2's?

    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...MakeTrack=true

I mean do you reckon there are any implications of using this method? Ie you drive will bust within a few uses? lol >_<

    Cheaper than modding/safer?

    Is there no downsides??

    Let me know ! ))

I think a fair few people on these forums use that trick.

Downside is it won't let you use DVD9 discs.

You could make an backup of Xenosaga, and use one of the various patches online to patch the game into 2 DVD5's... not tried this myself however.

If you can find someone to install a modchip I'd go down that route. Disk swaps are a right pain in the arse.

next time when you come across someone offering PS2 Test unit buy it without any hesitation. If you are going to get two or three PS2 you might as well get PS2 Test unit. And thanks(?) to closure of A certain gaming publisher there are a lot on the market... will cost you around $300-400 depends where you get it from and the condition of the unit...
