VMware WindowsXP vs Linux question

Hi,

Just wondering if anyones evaluated VMware for both Windows and Linux.
I'd like to know if theres any noticable improvement on Linux over Windows.

I've noticed no real difference in performance but the Linux version is much harder to get working if you use a "from scratch" distro of Linux like Gentoo or I guess even Debian depending on how much charge you took over the installation process.

Problems I ran into include getting USB to work, getting shared networking to work and getting the app to play nice with the X11 and now the X.org window servers.

Ta Mate, i'll stick with the XP version at the mo. Looks like a fair amount of hassle for not much (if any) improvement.
