    Calling all Home DDR fans

Which is the best quality soft dance mat available in the UK atm?

Haven't really money for a hard mat, and I'd rather not have to go through importing from somewhere like RedOctane. I'm thinking quality in terms of slippage/input registering.

      Thanks for that man.

In the end I think I'll bite the bullet and import one of those Ignition 2.0 pads with a seperate mat cover.

Isn't that like the best part of a $100. Plus the postage I guess.

For not much more you could get the Logic 3 hard pad. You can pick it up for about 95 quid including postage from www.gameloaded.co.uk.

I've been using one regularly since it was released including an evening where it was used constantly for about 5 hours with a whole load of different people. So I'd say its had a pretty hard pounding. Other than the creaking that that site mentions it works fantastically.

Well worth the investment - honest. For a second opinion have a word with Phillai. He's got one too.

I just haven't got the space for a hard mat atm, and I'd rather not have to be moving around a 20kg object every day. On top of that I need something as quiet as possible and hard mats are meant to be pretty noisy.

Am thinking of getting an ignition off of ebay for way cheaper, bit of a risk but worth it imo.....there's no way I'm putting down $150 on a peripheral for a genre which I'm new to. I can't be sure how strongly/long the appeal will last for me.

Pick up one of those ?15 logic 3 mats, from that link they sound pretty good.

              HMV sells them.

The soft mats don't cope well with the higher levels - they often, well at least mine does, miss inputs, and they can also slip about a lot (either that or I'm simply not good enough ).

I've tried them bare foot, with socks and with trainers, on hard floor and a rug, and I still get the problems on the higher levels - usually the left pad.

I haven't tried any of the hard mats so I can't comment on those - my mat cost ?10 and is third party - got it from here if I remember right - http://www.divineo.co.uk/ (listed under PS1 controllers). For what I paid for it I can't really complain.

                Regards
                Marty

Well based on feedback I've read on the Ignition 2.0, they pretty much don't slip at all down to the foam backing and they don't bunch up either.

I gather they're the best soft mat available anywhere, frankly at a retail of $99 they better had be. Coupled with one of these http://store.yahoo.com/adux/ddrgamecover.html I should have a pretty sturdy setup I hope.

I really want to go the simple route and opt for a Logic 3 soft mat locally, but I can't get past how gash they look
