Make sure that there are no power saving options on the networked device, also what strength signal is she getting, one or two bars is bad, three or more is good, like mobiles
Although my GF only has two bars on her wireless connection and it is fine, ah also what router is she using I find some are more reliable than others. I recommend D-Link at the moment. I will never recommend linksys however my mate has untold problems with keeping a stable connection, we all have had a go fixing it, and it seems to be just that the router is poor and only works when the PC is within 5 meters of the Router.
Maybe a fault on his Router but it sure has been a pain in network gaming sessions. -
Is it the router that is dropping? Most likely cause will be the inactivity settings.Comment

it is a linksys router, but my computer and also another one are connected to it with no problems at all (plus my PSP sometimes), they are win2000 machines.
The baffling thing is that it's only started happneing a couple of weeks ago, before that it was fine...
as far as i remeber her signal strength is fine, i'll take a look later...Comment
