    Headphones

Looking to buy a descent set of bins but i dont really know much about whats good and whats not at the mo. Wireless would be really cool so long as the sound is good, but if not i can make do with normal wired ones as the sound quality is always better. I have tried looking around on the net for various reviews but i just seem to get prices etc... By the way im looking for proper big bins that cover your hears..

So if anyone can help cheers

A friend of mine had bought Bose QuietComfort 2 headphones. I tried them and have to say they are absolutely fantastic. Tremendous bass, and brilliant overall quality. The sound blocking function is just ace. But then again, they will set you back $299...

anything by Seinheiser (sp) should be good all round; quality/sound wise, they do all sorts from ?30 upwards including wireless.

My pair sound as good as the day I bought them (about 4 years ago)

        Seinheiser's are excellent headphones.

However, if you value sound quality and precise reproduction then you owe it to yourself to audition a pair of Grado headphones. Search online for some reviews and you'll see what I mean. Prices start from around ?60 and go upto ?600.

        Here's their website: http://www.gradolabs.com/frameset_main.htm

Grados are all fine and well, but you can't wear them for more than an hour without your ears falling off from the pain.

Happened to me and if you ask anyone that owns them, they'll say the same thing.

If you want some good headphones and you're looking to pay around ?30-40, I'd recommend the Koss Porta Pros (or Sporta Pros). They're extremely comfortable, light and have terrific bass without sacrificing detail.

Iv got a pair of Etymotic ER6i's and they are without a doubt the best headphones I have ever had. Noise cancelling they are so when I went abroad over Chrimbo I couldn't hear a thing even on a noisy ****er of a plane.

            Buy. Now.

I don't find the Grado SR 80's uncomfortable and can wear them quite happily for many hours. I suppose whether a certain pair of headphones is comfortable or not is a very personal thing.

I can't find the exact ones I have (sbc hp800) but they're a more durable version of these:

                (found 'em)

Which are very, very nice. I've got some of these too and while they have a better sound quality and manage to cut out 90% of external noise, they don't quite fit over my ear and cause some pain after a few hours.

(?18.20 from disco discs all in)
