    Limited or No Connectivity

Yesterday Whilst Enjoying some time of Work I decided to clean out my PC. Ran Adaware to remove Spyware got 133 Items

So I promplty removed without thinking about it (i've this Many Times) Then Suddenly My Avast Pops up saying its unable to check the various E-mail types POP3 etc. I then Have the Network box In my Task Bar showing a Exclamation mark telling me Limited or no Connectivity.

Its Sending Packets and shows as Connected at 100mps, but i cant get on the Internet.

I can Use My Xbox Live fine so its Not NTL being Gh4y, I also Tried restoring to the point i created Before i ran Avast and its says it cant restore.

I unplugged my Modem many Times and turned off everything to no Avail

Is it Tottaly Messed up ? Or Can I fix it ?

    Cheers

I've got NTL also, usually the unplug the satellite box and plug in again (and reboot PC usually works) know the exact error your getting, guessing you've been rebooting your PC when doing the above. Otherwise I've settle for connecting via little USB adaptor from NTL, just find it more reliable, don't know what else to suggest apart from maybe post on www.nthellworld.co.uk

I got the same network connectivity message when my NIC cable became partially unplugged.

"Its Sending Packets and shows as Connected at 100mps, but i cant get on the Internet."

I'm getting exactly the same - haven't been able to access the internet via NTL or check emails all day. Have tryed restarting the PC, turning on and off the cable modem etc many times, but nothing works. It's obviously a problem with NTL, if you look on there service status page they have alot of 'issues':

I just hope mine suddenly starts working again later..

Well I would have thought NTL was Goosed again if I hadnt been able to Play Halo 2 On Xbox Live with no problems. Im Pretty Sure Ive deleted Somthing from my Computer Accidently, Even When I try Use the repair Function It says Unable to Obtain New IP.

Although Aint all Bad Means More X-box Live for me

Your computer failed to find a DHCP server then...

start -> run -> netsh int ip reset c:\log.txt

Reboot your computer then try to get webpages again...

ive had this problem for ages, apparently its a fault that developes with service pack 2 and there is a long winded instruction on how to fix it somewhere on the web- but it doesnt work lol.

So I manged to fix it last night. It seems Adaware is now picking up a certain file (not Sure which one) that has settings for My ethernet card and saying its contaminated. This Conicides with the instalation of SP2. Before i installed SP2 running Spyware detectors was not an issue it seems now it is.

Adaware has a function to allow you to restore all the files you have Quaritined Im just going todo a trial and error to determine the exact file then ill let you guys know so you cann look out for it next time you do a Scan

F.Y.I NTL support are a bunch of Dumbass's Steps they told me to take

                    1) Reboot your Laptop
                    2) Reboot your Cable Modem

                    Still not working ?
You ethernet card must be corrupt

But you guys probably already knew That
(*waits for Uk-online to arrive in Glasgow*)
