Mp3 playback

Right heres a little starnge question when playing back mp3's on my pc (xp pro) and using firefox or IE everytime i type anything on the keyboard the MP3 will cut out on every key press... its the first time i have seen anything like this.. anybody have any hints... its been doing it for ages..

Any ideas??

Bizarre. Only when using a web browser? If it occurs under any app, I'd suggest running a virus scan/adware scan perhaps. Could be a key logger running in the background stealing cpu cycles and your personal information...

But that is prolly a long shot. I couldn't say what it is.

nah it does it in word etc as well.. i run virus checkers and spybot etc all the time so i think its something else

It sounds like an IRQ conflict between the keyboard and the soundcard.

Also - Windows XP introduced some kind of funny IRQ sharing thing, can't remember much (try a google) but I'm pretty sure it's limited to devices on the PCI bus..

mm . i looked at the irq settings and there is no colfic i can see between the keyboard and SC..
